Walking into a yoga studio, is your first question, I wonder what game we’ll play today?
It could be if you are a children’s yoga teacher.

But why is that ?

Earlier today, I was scrolling through FB when a post pops up asking for ideas for games for kids yoga classes.
It was a post from a group in NZ.

A few mins later, another post pops up, asking the same question, but this time it’s from a group in the UK.

Then ANOTHER post pops up – asking the exact same question from a group in Australia.

No joke !

….It got me thinking….

Why is everyone asking for games for their classes?

So, I stopped scrolling and did some market research.

Do you know that 9 out of 10 posts from kids yoga teachers are asking for games to play in their classes?

Now, when you think of yoga and the benefits you get, do you think it’s from the games you play! No!

So why is everyone playing so many games in kids yoga classes?

More research.

When you google kids yoga classes, there are images of calm, quiet children, relaxed and peaceful. Yes, there are also a few images of kids having fun doing poses, but not a lot of games.

And why do parents, schools, ECH centres want yoga for the kids – to play games or to help them with their emotional and mental wellbeing
Exactly – the latter.

So, what’s the fixation with so many games in classes.

Can yoga for kids and teens be fun without the games? Can we make the yoga itself fun? YES!

If we are to make an impact with children and teens and help them with all the issues they are facing, with stress & anxiety, depression, asthma, ADHD, etc, then it’s time to teach real yoga, real yoga in an age-appropriate way.

If you want to know how, this is what we help with and have been doing for over 25 years.
